Overview

Hello and welcome to East Salalah! Today, we will be embarking on a half-day tour of some of the most fascinating and historic sites in the region.

Our first stop will be at the Taqah Castle, a magnificent structure that dates back to the 19th century. This castle served as a residence for the local ruler and was also used as a stronghold to protect against invaders. As we explore the castle, we’ll learn about its history and the various functions it served over the years.

Next, we will head to Taqa Beach, a picturesque stretch of coastline that offers breathtaking views of the Arabian Sea. This pristine beach is perfect for relaxing, and we’ll take some time to soak up the sun and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Our third stop is at the Wadi Darbat, a natural wonder that is sure to leave you awestruck. This beautiful valley is surrounded by lush greenery and cascading waterfalls, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers. Here, we’ll take a leisurely stroll through the wadi and marvel at its stunning beauty. We will also visit a natural park of frankincense trees located in Wadi Dawkah, an important stop along the ancient Frankincense Trail.

East Salalah Itinerary

Taqah Castle and Beach

The castle is one of the most iconic landmarks in Dhofar, and it was built during the 19th century. You have the walls made out of a local composite that includes corals and shells. During this trip you get to see the bedrooms, stores, kitchen, but also the well and jail without a roof. There’s also an opportunity to check out many household items, as well as jewelry and other weapons. That’s what makes it well worth giving it a try. 

Aside from the castle, here you can also check out the amazing beach too. Not only that, but this is a stellar place for anyone that enjoys bird watching.

Wadi Darbat

The reason why you want to go to Wadi Darbat is that here you can see the amazing seasonal waterfalls. It's also the place where you can find a spring suitable for motor boating and kayaking or even paddle boarding, right near the mountain. You do want to visit this valley, since it’s great for all kinds of sports, and it’s a fun trekking experience too.

1. You can cancel up to 24 hours before the tour starts for a full refund.
2. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the tour starts, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
3. We will provide a full refund if we need to cancel the tour due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather and activity.
